Mermaids 
Fern Smith’s mermaids started to appear in her work around 1988-1989 when she travelled extensively along the Western Australian coast line and stopping in Darwin for six months to witness the ‘build up’ and monsoon and has stayed a major influence in her life ever since. Fern Recently moved to the Bellarine area on the edge of Port Phillip Bay where there unique life forms only found in the Bay. You can find an exhibition of  mermaids at tides turn 2016.
